The heart of the OPL series sealers is a precision microprocessor that tightly controls the platen temperature in order to engender repeatable seals. This is not a PLC but rather a microprocessor that has been completely developed for the purpose of creating accurate temperature profiles for medical bags and pouches (see actual datalogging session on this sealer). This microprocessor was created with two distinct results in mind. First and foremost, the processor's mandate was to tightly manage the pouch environment through an accurate thermal feedback system utilizing a K-type thin-film thermocouple. Secondly, the system was developed understanding the regulatory challenges, so we developed this processor with a 3-axis design of experiment in mind such as a maintenance mode that allows quality teams and maintenance to adjust offsets during calibration sessions. Waterproof foot-switch

The OPL series medical pouch sealer has been the leading choice among many medical device companies throughout the US and Canada. This microprocessor-controlled pouch sealer manages critical temperature at the sealing platen with a thin-film temperature sensor. This sensor, designed to mimic the pouch environment, accurately feeds back thermal data in order to assure repeatable seals.

The OPL series sealers creates a wide 10mm seal in order to create a robust sealed channel between the sterile part and the ambient environment. The OPL sealer includes a switch table (on 300mm models only) that allows operators to activate the switch with the side of their hands during packaging. The air-switch can be removed from the table docking station and set on the floor in order to be used as a foot switch.

This sealer further has an option to be set in the auto-cycle mode, which is user-adjustable and can be set in 1/10th second increments, up to 5 seconds. In this mode, the machine will automatically cycle. This creates a highly ergonomic packaging flow and allows production to pace the packaging rate.

Built on a robust cast aluminum frame, this unit is designed for continuous use for years of dependable service. Unlike some sealers that use inexpensive air pistons, the OPL series sealers uses robust solenoids that allow tighter control as the power to activate the solenoid is accurately metered through the microprocessor. This system also means the unit requires no air and all the associated validation, management and quality issues surrounding air-driven sealers. The OPL series sealers come to you with complete calibration certification that is traceable to NIST. Simply plug into 110v in your cleanroom and you're ready to begin your validation.

The OPL Series and FA Series are a great choice for our customers with an oversized bag and these sealers are configured in 300mm (12"), 450mm (17.7") and 600mm (23.6"). Just remember when selecting a sealer bigger than 300mm, you will need 220v.

Because of the attractive price-point of the sealer, the OPL series is a great choice for medical startups that insist on the quality and accuracy of sealers such as our MS-350, but need a price point more in line with the start-up's budget. FA Series Sealer

For our customers who do not need to validate their process, the FA sealer utilizes the same machine design, but incorporates a simple electronic controller as opposed to the more expensive and advanced microprocessor. This machine still will seal the same films as the OPL series sealers. However, if the product you are sealing will not be sold sterile or a validation process is not important, then consider the FA series sealer as an excellent choice for the semi-automatic packaging of thermal form flexible films.
