Some products can deteriorate quickly with the presence of moisture or even trace levels of oxygen or an ambient environment. That's why some of our customers choose to gas-flush their product. The FG-2000 Series sealers are an affordable option for customers needing gas flush, but their products do not warrant expensive gas-flush production equipment.
These steel-bodied sealers utilize simple potentiometer style timers in concert with sequential relays in order to step the gas-flush seal and cool functions. The FG series sealers also come in a variety of seal lengths able to accommodate large bags up to 35" wide (please see the various configurations in the table below). The FG series sealers are activated with a push-to-go switch. The operator simply places the bag in the sealing jaw openings and pushes the footswitch. The machine will then install whatever inert gas is being utilized such as nitrogen or argon and then sequence into the vacuum mode, pulling the residual gasses out of the pouch.
Once the timer function is complete, which is user-determined, the sealer will automatically withdraw the vacuum tube and invoke into the heat mode. Once the predetermined heat dwell has been achieved, the machine will continue clamping force onto the pouch and then sequence into the cool-down function. Once that final cool-down function is complete, the jaw will open and the sealer is ready for the next pouch.
Because this sealer is designed for simple operations, it does not use an electronic controller or microprocessor. The analog step function of the sealer makes the process quite simple. The sealer includes a PSI gauge in order to monitor supply pressure to the machine. The sealer can be ordered with a 5 micron filter and collection vessel for sealing fine powders and products with residual moisture. Also, this sealer can be wall-mounted in order to free up the work area. This is a particularly popular configuration when dealing with heavy products that are shuttled on a conveyor belt.
The FG series gas flush sealer has been designed for simplicity. Simple electronic timers and relays remove the complexity without sacrificing accuracy. Because of the sealer's durable steel body, it has been used in a variety of venues from aerospace to critical packaging needs at the world trade center after 9/11. This sealer has been a proven performer.
For more critical packaging requirements, the FG series sealer can be built in stainless steel for aggressive wipe-down solvents to be used in a cleanroom, for example in processing active biological applications. It can further be configured with a microprocessor and thermalcouple in order to validate your gas flush packaging process.
