Simply feed the opened end of your pouch and the MD-850-US advanced conveyance system feeds your pouch across dual-heated platens that are precisely controlled using the system’s on-board computer.

Also, the MD-850-US also can be used with our optional roller table in order to support heavy medical devices such as orthopedic implants, etc. As your pouch conveys through the system, it now enters into the transducer-monitored pinch roller that engenders approximately 100 Newtons of force onto the pouch, finishing the sealing and curing process.

After the pouch is sealed, it continues past the print head and the unit now can print important markings such as ISO symbolization, expiration dating, date of manufacturing, lot codes, etc. All the printing is performed on the tailing end, or non-sterile side of the seal. Operators continue to feed in open pouches, which makes for impressive throughput numbers at the end of each shift.

The MD-850-US medical pouch sealer ships to you with a complete calibration. This high-resolution calibration includes a dual-zone thermal calibration, but also includes a transducer calibration. Each machine ships with its requisite calibration sticker in place on the machine and also includes raw readout data and calibration certificate from our advanced metrology lab. The system will also be programmed with a reminder letting you know when your next calibration is due. The unit’s stainless steel body allows for shift to shift wipedowns in order to manage bio-burden at your packaging station. With its years of proven performance, the MD-850 is an excellent choice for packagers in the sterile device arena. Although rotary sealers are not recommended for all films, such as clear film to clear film or metalized pouches, it is an excellent choice for most device makers that are utilizing the standard TyVek to clear film pouch. Menu-Driven Controller

This simple-to-use menu-driven controller allows users to easily set not only machine's operational settings, but printer settings as well. Operators can select a host of pouch print functions such as ISO compliant symbolization. Operators can also select date of manufacturing, expiration dating, lot and product numbers.

The intuitive, simplified, membrane buttons create a comfortable and sensible user interface. A maintenance alert will flash on the display when the sealer is due for annual calibration. The calibration intervals can be determined at the time of calibration for any future date to better serve the quality team's needs.

The easy to read display can also be set up in multiple languages in order to thwart language barrier issues in a multi-national firm.

Quality teams agree - the best way to thwart the risk of a packaging failure in the market is accurate and regular testing and inspection. A product recall due to packaging failures is a senseless risk that can devastate a medical device company.

Van der Stahl Scientific’s package integrity lab understands the value of regular and thorough testing and it is within that spirit that we have developed the all new PTT-100V. This patented medical pouch test and inspection unit has received outstanding reviews from our customers. The PTT-100V’s compact size facilitates the placement of the unit throughout your facility. This system can even be used in the cleanroom for in-process visual inspection of your medical pouches.

This system is designed to harmonize with an ASTM-1886 and will add an important element of seal evaluation. After the operator visually inspects the seal, they can simply tap the pass button or the fail button, depending on the outcome of the visual inspection. If the product fails the visual inspection, the operator is prompted to input one of 10 possible seal failure causations. Once the operator selects the corresponding number of the failure, the unit will date and time stamp the inspection and this information can be purged later on the unit’s included software.

The onboard memory will also hold, as well as date/time stamp, all seal strength information that is recorded on the PTT-100V’s tensile tester. This data archiving is an important part of an audit path. more
