MS-105 Test Lead

The MS-105 test lead, as of June 1st, 2007, includes a calibration certificate citing accuracy of ± 1 degree fahrenheit. This unit is dryblock calibrated to assure that you can sample the accurate thermal environment of the sealers' platen.

MS-105 Test Lead - Accurate Calibration

An important link to a solid calibration lies in the accuracy of the test equipment utilized. Van der Stähl Scientific has the MS-105 test lead to accurately calibrate the impulse sealing equipment we offer. The MS-105 utilizes a thin 8.5 mil thick band that will safely and accurately measure temperature at the sealing machine's critical platen.

The MS-105 was designed in response to many of our customers' issues when using probes or bead thermocouples that cause small imprints on the heating element, which was in turn imparted on to the critical seal. This divot caused diminished peel strengths and burst values. Because of the narrow profile, the thermocouple is able to hold up against the machine's clamping force without imparting any ghost onto the sealing element surface.

Regular monitoring of sealing machines' thermal performance is key to the spirit of calibration and periodical maintenance. This K-type thermocouple can be used with a host of electronic thermometers and dataloggers. Our metrology lab dryblock calibrates each MS-105 to assure testing accuracy. In order to assure that the MS-105 will deliver accurate performance over the breadth of its operational zones, our metrology lab performs a 3-point datalogging session at 200°F, 265°F and 325°F.

We believe it is an important value to correlate thermal measurements with your preventative maintenance program. The MS-105 is an indispensable tool in your metrology kit.
