The PTT-100V is a complete medical packaging lab. It incorporates a horizontal peel tester to evaluate seal strength.
It also electronically records the date and time and allows users to assess a pass/fail. The system also includes our patented visual inspection system, the Viu. Together, they create one of the most powerful seal testing systems.
Data collected is of little value unless the data can be stored and purged off the system. With our included software, you can extract stored data onto your Mac or PC for archiving and analysis
(see printout). Simply connect a usb cable, download our software from our website and you can then purge all inspections and peel-test data. Many of our customers have purchased multiple PTT-100V test units in order to encourage testing throughout the facility.
Specimen Cutter
Designed to use in concert with the ASTM F-88 peel study, this template specimen cutter can create a 1″ strip. This useful jig can save a great deal of time when performing an expanded DOE.

Regular Testing, the Key to Compliance
This patented medical pouch test and inspection unit has received outstanding reviews from our customers. The PTT-100V’s compact size facilitates the placement of the unit throughout your facility. This system is designed to harmonize with an ASTM-1886 and will add an important element of seal evaluation. After the operator visually inspects the seal, they can simply tap the pass button or the fail button, depending on the outcome of the visual inspection. If the product fails the visual inspection, the operator is prompted to input one of 9 possible seal failure causations. Once the operator selects the corresponding number of the failure, the unit will date and time stamp the inspection and this information can be purged later on the unit’s included software.
The onboard memory will also hold, as well as date/time stamp, all seal strength information that is recorded on the PTT-100V’s tensile tester. Quickly Make the Perfect Test Specimen
An important part of the ASTM F-88 test methodology is a perfectly sized pouch specimen. Van der Stahl Scientific has several options for creating the perfect specimen to ensure the most accurate seal strength testing as possible. The SC-1 specimen jig is simple to use. Just lay out your sealed pouch, align the seal with the marked seal zone indicator on the jig and simply use an exact-o-knife to cut a perfect 1" specimen. Also, now with our new SC-2 seal specimen punch, companies that perform expanded designs of experiments can quickly stamp out seal specimens quickly and ergonomically. PTT-100V Calibration Kit
Many of our customers send their machinery to our calibration lab for calibration each year. For these small device companies, this has been the most simple way to manage the calibration of the PTT-100V testing unit. Safety measures
When the overheating occurs (i.e., when power continues to be distributed to the heating element longer than 4.5 seconds), the breaker turns OFF and the power is shut off. The lever returns to the initial position.
When the microswitch does not turn ON within 0.4 seconds after the touch switch is pressed, the pressure lever returns to the initial position.
About the Administrator / Operator IDs registration
- PTT-100V can register the Administrator and Operator IDs. You can operate the machine without setting the Administrator/Operator IDs. In that case, everybody can change the machine setting. Also, the operator name will be output as NONE.
- When only the Administrator ID is set and activated, only the Administrator can change the setting and operate the machine. The Administrator name is fixed as ADMINIST.
- When both Administrator and Operator IDs are set and activated, only the Administrator can change the machine setting. When the machine is logged in with the Operator ID, the operator can only perform the machine but cannot change the setting. When the error is displayed, only the Administrator can solve the problem.
- When the Administrator is deactivated and operator IDs are set, the operator can change the setting as well as perform the machine.
- 1 Administrator ID and 10 Operator IDs can be registered. Administrator name is fixed as ADMINIST and cannot be changed. The operator name can be registered using the alphabets and numbers.
